We’re Back!

Well, the move is over and I’m finally back blogging about it. I’m almost completely done unpacking, and I hung up my pictures yesterday with the help of my wonderful parents (they really are the best!). I’m starting to get used to living there and so is Miss Moley.

The move was bittersweet for me. I was so anxious to get my own place and be independent and when the day finally came I was driving away from my parents in tears. Not balling, just tears. That’s not to say I didn’t think everything through, though I may have overlooked some things and I’ll adjust to those things in time. When I was moved out before I was closer to them than I am now and I miss that. The parents get visitation rights with Moley on Saturdays, which will be her favorite day of the week from now on.

I’m thinking I’ll be more comfortable once I’m completely done unpacking… at least I’m hoping.

Moving!

Moley and I are on the move! I’m out of my parents house and moving into my new apartment. With all the hustle and bustle of packing, I’m not going to be able to blog for the next couple weeks, so bear with me. The good news is I already have some posts written, and they should fill the void while I’m gone. Don’t worry, I’ll be back!

Sorry for the late posts. It was a crazy busy weekend. On Friday, I was lucky enough to go see Muse play at the United Center. My friend works there, so he go the hook up on seats. We were so close! Not to mention the fact that Muse had the best stage setup I’ve ever seen. The whole experience has jumped to the top of my “Memorable Concerts” list. Here’s a couple photos I took with my phone.

Muse

Saturday night we had an event at work. It was the first event we’ve ever really thrown, and it was crazy, especially the work buildup to the night of. I worked 11 hours that day, without sitting down. I felt like I was walking around at Six Flags all day, just worse. It was fun, bu I’m glad it’s over. Now I can get back to my regularly scheduled workload.

Sunday was a day of sleep, especially with the time change. The only productive thing I did all day was play Gears of War 2 for a couple hours. Yes, that is productive in my book.

Good Advice

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever been given is from my mom. She had to tell me twice before it really stuck with me, the second time being a few days ago. That piece of advice was this:

“Don’t wait until you’re ready because no one ever is.”

She said this to me when I was thinking about getting Moley. I didn’t know how I was going to pay for her or who was going to watch her while I was at work. I was pretty sure I could do it, but there are always doubts. And look what happened. I have a beautiful little puppy who I can’t imagine life without. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made, with some help from mom.

Now I find myself in a somewhat similar position in regards to finding an apartment. I had 3 picked out that were right in town and after doing more research, there seems to be only one choice, albeit an expensive one. This situation has been a big stressor for me over the last couple weeks because of the financial aspect of it. I think I will be able to do this, but like I said before, there’s always that doubt.

So, I had an appointment with that last apartment option and it went alright. Turned out to beĀ  more than what I had planned on and I decided to pass on it for the time being. Who knows though, I may go back and take a look depending on a couple variables. I just knew I couldn’t do it right now, especially with Moley’s allergies and vet visits aren’t the cheapest. It was a tough decision to make because I really do want to live there, but it doesn’t hurt to look at a few more options. As soon as I went home I already had a couple more places picked out (a little farther than I like, but they may work out). I hope to take a look at them in the next few weeks.
